Delete your account

Account deletion is available to anyone who created an ATE Food Farms account. Use the steps below to request removal of your account and personal data.

How to request account deletion

The ATE Food Farms mobile app does not currently include an in-app “Delete account” button. Signing out only ends your session — it does not delete your account. To delete your account, submit a request using one of the options below.

  1. Confirm you previously created an ATE Food Farms account (for example farmer, neighbor, distributor, or donor).
  2. Submit the form on this page with the email address on your account, or email support@atefoodfarms.org with the subject “Account deletion request”.
  3. Optionally include your full name and any role you use in the app so we can verify the account.
  4. We will confirm your request and complete deletion after verifying ownership of the account. Most requests are processed within 30 days.

You can also reach us from the app via Help & Support and ask for account deletion, or use our Contact page.

What happens when your account is deleted

When your account deletion request is approved, your account will be deactivated and access to ATE Food Farms will be removed. You will no longer be able to sign in or use features that require an active account, and non-essential or marketing communications will stop.

Certain information may be retained where necessary for legitimate purposes such as security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, recordkeeping, or honoring communication preferences.

What data may be retained

ATE Food Farms may retain limited information associated with a deactivated account where there is a legitimate reason to do so, including:

  • Account and profile information — certain details such as your name, email address, phone number, role information, and account status may be retained as necessary to maintain account history, prevent duplicate or fraudulent accounts, and support security or administrative requirements
  • Security and access records — including IP addresses, device information, login activity, access logs, and records related to suspected fraud, misuse, abuse, or security incidents
  • Marketing suppression information — limited contact information may be retained to ensure that users who have closed their accounts or opted out of marketing are not unintentionally contacted again, in accordance with applicable communication and marketing requirements
  • Distribution and verification records — may be retained in identifiable, minimized, or de-identified form where needed to preserve the integrity and traceability of community food distributions and verification activities
  • Payment and donation records — retained where required for tax, accounting, payment-processing, auditing, or other legal and financial obligations
  • Training, program, or activity records — certain historical participation records may be retained where necessary for program integrity, reporting, auditing, fraud prevention, or legitimate operational purposes
  • Support and investigation records — support requests, complaints, disputes, or investigation records may be retained where necessary to resolve issues or maintain an appropriate record of past activity
  • Backups — information may remain temporarily in encrypted backups until those backups are replaced or rotated through our normal backup-retention process

Information retained after account closure will be restricted to the purposes for which it is needed and will not be used to keep your account active or to resume marketing communications.

See our Privacy Policy for more information about how we retain, protect, and use personal information.
